The Learning Partnership
Take Our Kids to Work is an annual event in which Grade 9 students spend the day in the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer experiencing and learning about the world of work. Take Our Kids to Work Day supports career exploration and career readiness. Experiencing a “day in the life” of a professional within a workplace allows students to explore the world of work and helps them make informed educational decisions. Other options? Anytime with these virtual reality workplace tours or Real Talk videos with real people giving real career advice, the stuff they wish they knew in high school. Operation Veteran
Operation Veteran was founded by Dr. Paul Kavanagh, in association with the Canadian War Museum, to honour and raise awareness of veterans and their sacrifices. Through Supply Line, one component of Operation Veteran, teachers across Canada can arrange to borrow a First World War Discovery Box. Bring the Canadian War Museum into you classroom. This learning kit contains authentic and reproduction artifacts related to Canadian military history, along with everything you need to lead engaging hands-on activities and lessons with your students.
